There are both legal and ethical issues surrounding the games industry that make it difficult too secure your own work. It also makes a producer consider there Ethical values of there costumers, with warnings on the game for things such as addiction, violence and Stereotyping. Legal issues are a worrying factor for the games industry, because you need to check if an idea is available through intellectual property and if you are mimicking someone else's game play then you are in risk of breaching copyright laws.
Intellectual Property (IP)
Intellectual property is a term that refers to a distinct number of creations, exclusive rights are also recognized as well as the corresponding fields of law. Under the intellectual property laws exclusive rights are given to owners of a variety of intangible assets. Common
types of intellectual property rights include copyrights, trademarks, patents and industrial design rights.
